Darius is a friend of Jermaine Sullivan, a bishop from Georgia, USA, who is featured in the film. Meet the Mormons examines the very diverse lives of six devout members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Eventually, members of the church seemed to own the name, even took pride in being a peculiar Mormon. Mormons trace their origins to the visions that Joseph Smith reported he had in the early s while living in Upstate New York. InSmith said an angel directed him to a buried book written on golden plates containing the religious history of an ancient people.
